Juanita Virginia Mack

July 24, 1946 - February 24, 2025

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Juanita Virginia Mack, who departed peacefully on February 24, 2025. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness, love for Christ, and generous spirit.

Juanita was born on July 24, 1946, in Rocky Mount, Virginia, to the late John William Mack and Irene Mack Wade. Graduatingfrom L. M. Waid School in Franklin County, she later married her high school sweetheart, Richard Mack, who preceded her in death. From this loving union, they were blessed with two daughters, Regina Mack Ramsey and Annette Mack (deceased).

Juanita was a dedicated and hardworking woman, spending many years employed at Burlington Industries before retiring from the Franklin County School System in 2006. Within the school system and her community, she was affectionally known as “Mrs. Juanita”. She was deeply committed to her faith as a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Baptist Church, where she actively served as a choir member, usher, Sunday school teacher, and Deaconess. Her love for helping others extended beyond the church, as she found joy in singing at nursing homes, volunteering in her community, and giving generously to those in need. She always wanted her legacy to be remembered for her giving to others.

After retirement, Juanita continued to serve her community by volunteering at the Booker T. Washington National Monument, sharing her time and wisdom with others.

Her hobbies included traveling, crafting, quilting, sewing, and bowling, always embracing life with enthusiasm and creativity. Her warmth and generosity left a lasting imprint on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Juanita’s legacy of love and strength will be cherished by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. She is preceded in death by Robert Mack (brother), Vernell Wade (sister), Buren Mack (brother), and Rebecca Mack Davidson (sister).

She leaves to mourn her passing: a daughter, Regina Ramsey of Virginia Beach, VA; four grandchildren, Latanda Mack-Fuller (Shad) of Fairburn, GA, Nicole Ramsey, Britney Ramsey, and Anthony (TJ) Ramsey of Virginia Beach, VA; and one great-grandson, Issac Papillion, also of Virginia Beach. She is survived by three brothers; Jonah Mack , James Mack, and Buford Wade (Beth) of Rocky Mount, VA; and a sister, Sadie Mack of Bowie, Maryland; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
