Mary Evelyn Wade

Mary Evelyn Wade passed peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025. She was born on Wednesday, May 22, 1935, to the late Major & Lillie Cole. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, George Wade. Three sisters; Caroline Cole, Annie Mae Cole and Ovella Cole; Three brothers, Major Arthur Cole, Herbert Cole and Henry Cole.

Mary had an unconditional Love for her children. Whether it be through a warm meal, a perfectly kept home or her steady presence, she brought a sense of peace and order that reflected her deep sense of responsibility and Love. One of her favorite life’s enjoyments was gardening. She enjoyed raising and tending to her vegetable garden and had a deep passion for grooming her flowers.

She leaves her children to cherish her Precious Memories; Barbara Jean Houston, Frank Douglas Wade, Paul Marshall Wade, Linda Wade (Dabian) Groves and Michael Wade all of Rocky Mount, Virginia. Six grandchildren; Randy Cole, Stephanie Boyd, Timothy Boyd, Brittany Poindexter, Keely Poindexter and Jace Moore; Seven Great grandchildren; Ethan Cole, Gavyn Young, Baily Young, Nathan Boyd, Benjamin Boyd, Hendrix Novia and Koa Ellen Martin. One nephew; Major Arthur Cole, Jr. (Butch). A host of relatives and friends.
