Wilford Aubrey "Bruce" Belcher

On early Monday morning, October 14, 2024, Wilford Aubrey (Bruce) Belcher was called home to be with his Heavenly Father.

Bruce was born on July 2, 1961 in Rocky Mount, Va. to his parents the late Johnny W. Belcher and the late Yvonne W. Dennis. He was 1 of 18 children. 

At the age of 9 Bruce was baptized and was a member at Greater Mount Parish Baptist Church.

Bruce attended Franklin County Public High School and later served his country by joining the United States Army in 1978 and served in California, Oklahoma, and Korea.

He was self-employed and very skilled in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work. As a child he loved breaking things down and putting them back together to see how they worked.

And if you knew Bruce, if you needed a good laugh he definitely had a joke for you. He was always the same every time you saw him.

Bruce loved his children and his grandbabies. They gave him so much joy and happiness.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Johnny W. Belcher, his mother,Yvonne W. Dennis, and his son, Aubrey Lynell Belcher.

Those who will continue to hold special memories of Bruce are his loving daughter Maricca (Desmond) Penn of Roanoke, VA; daughter Memoree Briana Scales of Martinsville VA; daughter Tiffany Belcher (Vincent Rome), GA; son Timothy Belcher of GA; and son Farod (Janice) Miller of GA. His grandchildren: Destiny, Dayunna, Marqkya, Malonie, Ja’Laisa, Hilton, Princess, Na’Lig,Tyliyah, Jalissa, Aziz, and Alayah and his new great granddaughter: Zelana

His siblings: Renee (Louise) Lugo of FL; Theresa (Jason) Scott, Stephen(Donna) Scott, Darnel Scott, Sylvia Scott, Tisha Scott, Lisa Scott, of NJ; Eric (Felicia)Scott of NY; Clarence Zeigler of Ridgeway, VA; Stephanie Harvey, Annette (Eugene)Townes, Sharon Tyree, Gwendolyn (William) Martin, Antonia Johnson, and Timothy Dennis of VA; Gloria (James) Whitfield of GA; Shawn (Victoria) Dennis of Texas. 

A special friend: Deborah Hairston of Martinsville, VA. Last but not least his ride or die best friend Mark Stanfield of Rocky Mount, VA. As well as a host of other relatives and friends.
